Piano Player – Songwriter Max Greenwood’s albums have received critical acclaim for their honest and heartfelt songs. Recent releases include twin EPs Iris and Fern. As a piano player he is known for his delicate, expressive touch, featured on many recordings by different artists. He is a member of the folk trio Iona Sound and the Blues band Otis.
In 2005, Max moved to Ireland, began a family and continues to write, teach and produce music. At the heart of Max’s artistic endeavour is a love of rhythm, melody, improvisation and rich harmony that draws on Gospel, Blues and Jazz in its rousing and more intimate forms.
He teaches Songwriting, Piano, Recording & Production privately, in bespoke workshops, and at BIMM Institute Dublin. In 2003 he founded SongRise for 7-11 yr-olds to develop ecological awareness through songwriting with professional songwriters at The Premises Studios in London, supported with funding from the Arts Council.
